Endless Horizons brings together the FotoMatter Collective in a group exhibition that explores humanity’s relationship with nature through landscape photography, installation, book arts, and time-based media. In these works, the horizon emerges as a visual anchor and a conceptual threshold. In landscape photography, the horizon is a familiar trope; an organizing element that grounds the viewer within the image. It establishes scale, situates the body in relation to the environment, and reassures us of our own orientation—that we are upright, steady, and connected to the world before us rather than adrift or untethered. Yet the horizon is also elusive. No matter how closely we approach it, it continually recedes, marking the limits of perception while inviting us to imagine what lies beyond.
Through a variety of artistic approaches, Endless Horizons asks viewers to consider how landscapes shape human experience, and how human presence reshapes the land. The works invite us to linger at the edge of the visible world—to contemplate the horizon not as a fixed boundary, but as a shifting space of connection and possibility.
